September Photo a day ~Week 3

This week's photo a day. Not always very descriptive of what I've been up to, but just odds and ends I wanted to take photos of x3 Because i was away Tuesday last week, I've decided to just put up what would've been last week's post :] This weeks will either come later in the week or next week, not quite decided yet!


16.09.15 I'm learning to crochet, and as my first attempt I made a little skull XD


17.09.15 I had to go get my biometrics enrolled for my citizenship application, using this machine was really weird, but I got a sneaky shot ;p


18.09.15 On the 18th we received the keys to our new house! Even though it was only 15 minutes before I was supposed to be in work! Face & I skipped out for a little while to check out our new space x3


19.09.15 The day after we got the keys we went away to Devon on holiday! Aha, it was typical timing, but I felt so in need of a holiday I didn't mind too much. This was the cottage we stayed in with the rest of Face's family. It was huge!


20.09.15 A trip to Hartland Quay, our nearest ocean view :]


21.09.15 Visiting more seaside locations (as you have to do on holiday) x3 This is Bude, Cornwall.


22.09.15 Our daytrip last Tuesday was going to see Barnstable market :] I didn't get much but it was a lovely place to look around!
So that was last week, so much happened! I'll see if I can update you all in more detail soon :]

September Photo a Day ~Week 2

This week's photo a day. Not always very descriptive of what I've been up to, but just odds and ends I wanted to take photos of x3


09.09.15 Going around the garden again, I'm still taken with the onions hanging to dry in the greenhouse.


10.09.15 Wednesday was a day of good weather and we had strawberries and cream for pudding x3 I sat by the door to enjoy the weather as I ate.


11.09.15 OMG. O. M. G. Waiting for this album for 11 years. And here it is. I am dying. I need this on loop just plumbed straight into my head for at least the next couple of weeks.


12.09.15 Last week when I was out at West Brom I visited their local Tesco. It has a massive foreign foods section and I always have to go buy some seaweed crisps. I also couldn't resist buying this sake to try! I still haven't cracked it pen yet, but doesn't it look pretty?


13.09.15 I had a busy Sunday between my computer, town and visiting friends, but I had my mind set of catching some autumn colour somewhere along the way :]


14.09.15 Last night I finally started my Fantasy Life game on 3DS. I'd been waiting for a good day but I was starting to drag it out so I just played it XD So far it's looking good x3


15.09.15 Spyro is so cute! She is waiting to be fed here, look at the little tongue!
Next week I am away to Devon so I'm not quite sure how I'm going to be posting the photo a day, as I can't really schedule it! I do all my blogging/photo editing from my PC and I don't have a laptop to take with me, hmmm. Any ideas?

September Photo a Day ~Week 1

It's my first week in the September photo a day! I can't say it's been the most exciting week, it started out really slow so my photos were a little lame. You wouldn't believe I did this nearly everyday for 3 years straight and still didn't manage to pick up any tips on how to stay creative in getting photos :x


02.09.15 Considering he's the bigger brother, he's the shy one!


03.09.15 I finally got a letter to acknowledge receipt of my application for citizenship, fingers crossed all goes through quickly and well.


04.09.15 I went over to West Brom Park Inn to help program the new menu into their tills. Although I had to do this on my day off, it's something I generally enjoy doing. If only I could get this as a job for all the hotels!


05.09.15 I went with Dad to see the Kast Off Kinks, it was his birthday present x3


06.09.15 Sunday was a beautiful day! Of course, I had to work. But first I spent an hour outside reading the new Pets at Home magazine. You don't understand how keen I am on free shop magazines :x


07.09.15 Monday Dad and I went to the beach! We visited some beaches we've not been to before and again the weather was so good, it was a long but really great day. This pic was taken at Criccieth after we ate dinner x3


08.09.15 This plant was given to me a few weeks ago by someone Face knows, it's a melon plant! I'm not sure if it's going to get far at this time of year but it is certainly trying, climbing the date plant like crazy!

Photo A Day ~September

I think September is going to be busy one for me this year, and I've got quite a bit planned! Because of that I thought that I would do a photo-a-day! This one is going to be a little different from the photo challenge of July as there will be no set photos I have to take, it literally will just be one photo taken every day, of that day. No cheating and using photos from previous days to boost myself!
However, I don't want to spam you guys with posts, so it'll be updated weekly, on a Tuesday.
Here is the first pic, of the front garden. I hope to take an accompanying photo at the end of the month too:

Photo Challenge ~Update Four

I realised yesterday that if I was to update my photo challenge with it's finale on Saturday there would be 11 photos to finish it off! I sort of hadn't realised before that that the weeks would pan out like this to leave me with so many extra days at the end XD So, today I thought I would update with a few of the final challenge photos, there are some pretty interesting ones today too x3

Something Green
While out visiting Worcester I saw quite a few interesting things, including this old railway bridge, painted a rather interesting shade of mint XD

A Stretch of Fields
This I thought would be an easy one for the challenge as I'm usually out and about in the countryside on my days off, but I actually had to concentrate on looking out for a good stretch of fields to get this photo. I think it was worth the wait though.

An Interesting Shop Window
I changed this one up a bit by taking it from the inside of the window, but I really like this place, a small restaurant that has opened up in the new complex they are building up town. We were going to try out the food here but they were too busy, so I just got this pic of their nice shop side!

A Family Crest
Also taken around Worcester, I believe this building is now the local council building? Not sure. But it was big and fancy and has a crest on it! To be honest, I'm not 100% if this is a family crest or a town crest, but we'll run with it....

Free Shot
This one was too cute not to include as a Free Shot! It was some street art from the high street, which some woman wouldn't stop standing over as I tried to take this pic, which is why some of the words are cropped out...but I love how vibrant it is! I didn't know chalk could be so bright x3
We'll leave it there for now and I'll show you the last of the photo challenge pics on Saturday ^^ I've still not got any plans for August as a challenge, so, anything you would like to see?

July Photo-a-Day ~Week Two

We're onto week two, and I've got to admit I'm already struggling to take a photo everyday, let alone with a theme! Let's see what i managed to get, shall we?

A Favourite Sweet
Okay, I've got to admit, I'm not sure if this is cheating or not XD A sweet isn't really a fruit and if someone offered me friut as a sweet I'd probably laugh in their face...but cherries are something else. Like, a level to themselves of awesome Xp And as cherry season appears to be in full swing I am pleased to have far more than I can eat around at the moment XD Even better that they're free!

In the Sun
This isn't my favourite interpretation of a challenge item, although it does fit it. I just hadn't planned of having to use it on a shot like this, but that's not to say I don't like it, and ultimately that's how this shot came to be here xp

A Playground
Also maybe a little cheaty? Can a merry-go-round count as a playground? I'm not sure but I think it's super cute so here it is ;p

In the Garden
In my head I'd intended this shot to be more like a blanket laid out on the grass with books and the like scattered around, my usual garden relaxation routine, but instead I've gone for my favourite lily this year! It's a beast of a plant with 40 flowerheads! I'd tried to google to see how many flowerheads was the most likely to grow on this kind of lily just for a comparison but I couldn't find much, shame. I'm starting to feel a guinness worl record going on ;p

Free Shot
I dragged Face to the safari park on Tuesday finally, I've been trying to go for at least the last 4 years XD I got some really good photos too (and a lot of mediocre ones...) but this one of the white tiger I thought came out really well, it kind of looks like he's got something on his mind to me.

A Pet Outside
I think I can be forgiven for actually having two pets outside in this shot? ;p Thursday was a lovely sunny day and i took advantage by cleaning the boys out as they'd started to really trash their tank ;p They weren't sure what to think- their first tank clean and their first time being outside! I even put them on the grass for a while, they weren't sure what was happening at all :x

Something Exciting
This is not only my favourite shot this week, but my favourite shot in a long time! It's exciting because African Wild Dogs are easily my favourite animal at the safari park and as we drove through their enclosure the whole pack walked right out in front of our car holding up all the traffic behind us, but giving us a great view and plenty of photo opportunities! I was so stoked and look how cute they are x333
Well, that's it's for this week, sorry about the late posting, it's looking like Sunday Catch up could be a Monday catch up too as I'm at work for at least 12 hours tomorrow. We'll get there :3

July Photo-a-Day ~Week One

I realise that my photo a day for July was supposed to be updated on Saturdays, but I didn't predict how busy I was going to be this Saturday! So far I'm 11½ hours into a 16 hour shift, but thought I would type on my break :]
So, let's jump straight in, shall we?

A Statue of a Dog or Horse
This one was taken while over at Wolverhampton racecourse checking out a camera show :3 You'd think the photo for this day would be 'camera' right? But no, it goes to this statue of a horse I found while there and I thought it seemed like a good chance to tick this one off the list as you don't come by statues of horses or dogs very often, right?

A Pond with a Fountain
Another thing I don't see very often, so took the opportunity while in The Quarry, Shrewsbury. The Quarry is a beautiful spot and we sat and admired it's wonderful landscaping and gardens, this pond and it's surrounds reminded me of some of the Japanese gardens me and Face found while over there x3

Transport
Some of these prompts I already had an idea for when I started the challenge, but I didn't see this for this one XD While out and about in Wales, Dad and I stopped at a aqueduct next to a viaduct and while we were walking next to the canal a train came over, he even blew his whistle and waved at us as he went past! I was pretty impressed!

Camera
Heeeeere it is ;p I knew it wouldn't be long before I managed to fulfill this prompt, the question was just with which camera? This camera is borrowed from a friend in Wolverhampton who also likes to collect old school analogues and I took it out while visiting Horseshoe falls in Wales. Hopefully I'll have got some good shots when I get the film processed x3

Reflection
This was taken at Ilam house (manor?) Friday, a beautiful day and perhaps a little too warm to be wandering around some old house's grounds XD Still, finding this spot was a bonus and we watched the reflections of the river under the bridge for a while in the shade before moving on again.

A Castle Turret
I'm not entirely sure on this one, if it counts or not. It's a decorative part of the gardens at Ilam manor, but it is distinctly a castle turret, isn't it? Let me know if you think I cheated on this one ;p

Free Shot
I thought I would use this week's free shot on this adorable greengrocers in Llangollen x3 I always take a photo of this place if we pass through as I just find it so...authentic? I imagine back in the day there would be a shop like this every couple of streets with displays outside to make people buy from them, but you rarely see it these days. What really topped this place off was the lovely cherries they sold! We had to get more on the way back the first lot had been so good XD

Photo a Day Challenge ~July

I thought I'd try something different for a little while, how about a photo a day? I was thinking though that rather than spam you everyday for the next month or so I'd do weekly updates, sound fair? x3


As I was mooching around some old files on my phone earlier I found a note with a mini photo challenge my sister sent me years ago! As this idea was already floating around, this kind of sealed the deal ;p I've added a few extra ideas to it as well as a couple 'free cards' for whatever I fancy posting and plan to do this all through the month of July, though not in order (shhhh ;p)
I actually used to run a 365 photo-a-day blog over on Livejournal, Parking Lott Tickets for nearly 3 years. I accidently missed the odd day, but I was pretty steady with it overall! I still refer back to it now and then to look at old cars, pets, or just random things I remember taking photos of as it's amazing how much of life just a simple photo every day covers.
Even just last year I also did a 100 days of happiness challenge with my sister over Instagram, which after the 100 days was up...we carried on and eventually we decided to extend it to a whole year! It was a lot of fun, though as I used to, I found some days just so difficult to get a picture for. That's just the nature of a photo challenge though, it's not called challenge for no reason!
